Dodgers, Padres to Wear Commemorative Seoul Patches in Korea – SportsLogos.Net News

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are getting set to kick off the 2024 Major League Baseball championship season with a pair of games in Seoul, South Korea, this week.

As part of the historic two-game opening series, the Dodgers and Padres are both sporting commemorative patches on their jersey sleeves as well as the side of their caps.

The patch on the caps is a blue square with a light blue trim. Inside is the full name of the event, “MLB WORLD TOUR SEOUL SERIES 2024,” in white, with the MLB logo above. The patch design on the jerseys is similar, except the overall shape changes from a square to a home plate.

Jerseys and caps featuring this limited edition patch are available for purchase now, as are a few other Seoul Series-related shirts and other items.

Of note, the San Diego Padres appear to be replacing their Motorola advertisement patch for games in Korea with one showing the logo of Coupang Play, a Korean online video streaming platform. Coupang Play is also the official “presenting sponsor” of MLB’s World Tour stop in Seoul.

Earlier this month, the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays played a pair of exhibition games in Santo Domingo as part of the 2024 MLB World Tour. Both clubs also wore commemorative patches during these games. Additional MLB World Tour stops this season include the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros in Mexico City in April and the New York Mets’ matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies in London in June.
