The Gonzaga men’s basketball program will honor its first NCAA Tournament team by wearing throwback uniforms during tonight’s game against San Diego, which tips off at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

The 1994-95 Bulldogs, coached by Dan Fitzgerald, went 18-8 during the regular season before capturing the West Coast Conference Tournament title with consecutive victories over San Diego, Saint Mary’s and Portland.

Gonzaga was one of five conference champions making their first NCAA Tournament appearance, joining Colgate, FIU, Mount St. Mary’s and Nicholls State, but ultimately fell to third-seeded Maryland in the first round.

Interestingly, the uniforms don’t actually match what the Bulldogs wore that season, but rather replicate the design they sported during the 1998-99 season, which ended with a loss in the Elite Eight to eventual national champion UConn.

That includes royal blue jerseys with a navy blue wordmark and numbers with white trim and white and red piping on the collar, arm holes and bottom of the royal blue shorts. There’s also a large Bulldog logo inside of a white circle on the right side of the shorts.

This will mark the seventh different uniform worn by Gonzaga this season, including their home white, navy road, 1998-99 white fauxback, black alternate, gray alternate and turquoise N7 uniforms, which celebrated Native American Heritage Month.
